night cross race?

in regards to doing a night cross race, there have been a few ideas bouncing around.
1) my thoughts were to do one at the E.49th/Harvard mtn bike trail; where Cleveland Cobbles started. my reasons for this include that; there will not be people around, so we will not bother anyone. also, with the mtn bike trail, the route will be different and challenging, and a not so normal cross race set up. something more challenging, and different.
2) an option of doing one out in Center Mills in Bainbridge. not knowing this area, it would be up to everybody else. my concern would be the totter on the trail and riding at night. Don't want someone to get that badly hurt.
3) something out in the Shaker Hts or Coventry area. Again my concern there is people, and getting noticed

So let's get some feed back going, and then we could set a date.

Cleveland Cobbles reflections...

Just wanted to post a 'thank you' to everybody that came out to ride the 2nd annual Cleveland Cobbles ride. We had 20 riders out this year.

It was a day for flats. We had 5 in total. I was the first, and then the mayhem continued from there. One guy commented that we could do small crit races around the block while we wait. Not a bad idea. People began to peel off because of other commitments, the hurt, or they wanted to hurt more. The ride took just over 2 hours, and then getting stopped by a train on the way back put more of a time in.

It started off rather cool as four of us rode from my house, and then after the second climb the jacket was off. Before the second descent, I heard it. The hissing of my front tire. Glass. Fixed and back up and running, it didn't take too long for the flats to keep coming. Unfortunately no one could time their flats in front of Honey Hut, a bakery, or a bar. If I would have had another tube and Co2 I might have given myself another one just to stop and have a beer. As we passed the Clark bar twice, we were cheered on as if we were in a race. Maybe in the fall I'll put together a bar stop cobbles. Don't know how far we would get in the ride.

I could tell I need more time in the saddle. There were times where I felt like I was standing still as some climbed right pass me. So there were some monsters out there with us.

And the dust hasn't even settled on this ride, we are already talking of the next, and I know a Funk 50 is in the works. Join the twitter feed @renegade_cross to stay up to date on goings on & thank you again...
